INTRODUCTION.
Anyone can be a father.
There are some good fathers.
How about being the BEST Father.
Today’s message “The Best Father” will give the characteristics and or examples of what it is to be the best father.
It is a great responsibility to a Father.
Example of God.
God the Father - head
The Apostle Paul wrote 14 of the 27 New Testament Books.
Let’s take a look at what Paul had to say to the church at Thessalonica.
Thessalonica was at one time the Roman Capital of Macedonia.
the Apostle Paul wrote this letter to the church after his second missionary journey.
“Paul’s writing from 1 Thessalonians teaches us that we can trust the character of God and the truth of the Gospel” - faith life study bible.
1 Thessalonians 2:9–12 NASB95
9 For you recall, brethren, our labor and hardship, how working night and day so as not to be a burden to any of you, we proclaimed to you the gospel of God. 10 You are witnesses, and so is God, how devoutly and uprightly and blamelessly we behaved toward you believers; 11 just as you know how we were exhorting and encouraging and imploring each one of you as a father would his own children, 12 so that you would walk in a manner worthy of the God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory.
MESSAGE.

I. A father’s Behavior towards his children.

10 You are witnesses, and so is God, how devoutly and uprightly and blamelessly we behaved toward you believers;

1. Devoutly.

in a manner characteristic of moral or ritual purity. (LOGOS Bible Sense Lexicon).

2. Uprightly.

Uprightly - fairly - justly - righteous

3. Blamelessly.

II. A father’s Leadership towards his children.

11 just as you know how we were exhorting and encouraging and imploring each one of you as a father would his own children,

1. Exhorting.

strongly encourage.
come along side.
Military - come to encourage the soldiers.

2. Encouraging.

give support, confidence or hope.
Console - comfort.

3. Imploring.

Martyromai - we get our word martyr (witness)
to solemnly assert something.
offering firsthand authentication of the fact.

III. A father’s Reward.

12 so that you would walk in a manner worthy of the God who calls you into His own kingdom and glory.

1. So they may walk worthy of God.

2. So the children may be called in God’s kingdom and glory.

10 After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself perfect, confirm, strengthen and establish you.
